BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Fire department will be performing training in the Market Street parking garage on June 17, 21 and 28.
The training will primarily take place in the mornings but may extend into the afternoons. It will consist of entering the stairwell with fire hoses, proceeding to the top floor, exiting the stairwell and spraying water onto the top deck.
The northeast stairwell and some parking spaces on the top floor will be closed for this training, but all other areas of the garage will remain open. The third floor may be utilized for simulated hose deployment, but no water will be utilized and the floor will remain open to parking.
A fire hydrant will not be used. The department will have a reserve apparatus on site to supply water to the companies and act as the hydrant.
The fire department asks that users of the garage be alert during this time period.
