Joan “Joanie” Nussbaum, 60, of Bloomington, won her battle with cancer on July 9, and is now home with Jesus.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday at East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock; with Pastor Scott Boerckelofficiating. Burial will follow in Troyer Cemetery, Carlock.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday also at East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock.
Joanie was born July 30, 1955 in Sabetha, Kan.; the daughter of Henry and Loree (Brunner) Plattner.She married Kevin Nussbaumon June 12, 1977 in Sabetha, Kan. Her husband, Kevin survives in Bloomington. Her parents preceded her in death.
Other survivors include one daughter, Kelsi (Eric) Harris of Dayton, Ohio; one son, Reid Nussbaum of Bloomington; granddaughter, Aubrey Harris; three sisters, Susan Meyer of Sabetha, Kan.; Sandra (Doug) Aberle of Moorpark, Calif.; Jan (Dean) Strahm of Sabetha, Kan.; and one brother, Doug (Sue) Plattner of Sabetha, Kan.
Joan was a member of East White Oak Bible Church, Carlock.Joan was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved God and her family and enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time outside, and driving her yellow Volkswagen Beetle.
