BLOOMINGTON – Busy Bank has been named as one of 2016’s Best Banks to Work For, according to American Banker magazine.

Busey is based out of Champaign and has three offices in Bloomington. Senior Vice President in charge of Retail Todd Anderson works out of Bloomington. He said this award puts Busey in an elite group.

“Busey is among just 60 organizations, and this is really out of thousands, we were recognized as a Best Bank,” said Anderson. “We’re very honored to be associated with this group of premiere banks nationwide.”

The bank was evaluated on its policies, practices and demographics.

“Most importantly, our associates were surveyed in their experiences and that was consisting of about 75 percent of our total evaluation,” Anderson said.

It’s the second award this year for the bank. Anderson said Busey was also named a Best Place to Work in Illinois by the Best Companies Group.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
