SPRINGFIELD – Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton looked shaky on her feet following her early departure from a September 11th memorial on Sunday.

The episode for some continues to raise the question of how good her health is as Clinton fought back a coughing fit last week in Cleveland. Her doctor on Sunday reports that she has pneumonia and needs to modify her schedule to aid in her recovery.

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin said that her health is not a concern.

“No person could endure that kind of campaign with that kind of schedule and have a glaring health issue,” Durbin said. “She has a clean health report. I don’t think that’s an issue at all. It think that’s somebody’s idea, but I don’t think there’s any basis for it.”

The Clinton campaign says that she has scrubbed a plan campaign trip to California to start the week.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
