WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Illinois Wesleyan football team scored the most points in a game since the 1996 season in posting a 62-10 win over Carroll University at Schneider Stadium in Wasukesha, Wis., on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Illinois Wesleyan improved to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while Carroll, returning to the conference for the first time since the 1991-92 season, is 0-6 this season and 0-4 in league play.

Coach Norm Eash said he was impressed with his players.

“(We) talked to them about playing Titan football and this is the first year Carroll is in the league – let them know that we are a top team and play that way,” said Eash. “It just shows how good we can be.”

The Titans last scored 60 points against North Central in a 60-0 win in the 1996 season and the 62 points Saturday is tied for seventh most in an IWU single game (IWU also scored 62 in shutout vs. Millikin in 1965).

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
