DALLAS – Former Central Catholic and University of Illinois standout Josh Brent has announced his retirement from the National Football League for a second time.
Brent attempted a comeback with the Dallas Cowboys last season after serving five months in jail on an intoxication manslaughter charge. He was found guilty in the 2012 death of Cowboys’ teammate Jerry Brown. Brent played in one game last season before he was sidelined by a calf injury.
