A warm Thanksgiving meal will go to thousands of families in the twin cities area.
Home Sweet Home Spokeswoman Leslie Bunge says they have reached their goal of collecting two thousand turkeys.
Needy families will pick up the turkey and trimmings at Midwest Food Bank Saturday and Monday.
“It will be people that will be driving up, so we have kind of like a drive through system I believe,” said Bunge. “We’ll have cars lined around the block at Midwest Food Bank and they’ll drive up and we’ll give them a meal box and give them a turkey and they’ll be on their way.”
Bunge reminds you to bring a photo ID for the registration process.
Distribution of meals starts Saturday November 19, from 11 am-4pm at Midwest Food Bank. We will also distribute meal boxes on Monday, November 21, from 2 pm-6pm.
