BLOOMINGTON – The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign is in its final week and still needs support from the community.
The campaign has raised over $175,000 towards its $240,000 goal. Director of Development Angie Fulton said the freezing weather stalled donations a bit over the weekend.
“We’re really going to have to have some big days at the kettles,” said Fulton. “Hopefully, with the weather getting better people will be out more and shopping more and we’ll be able to achieve that goal.”
Fulton added they’re more than 60 percent of the way to the overall Christmas campaign goal of $490,000.
“We definitely need that big push year end and need people to mail in donations, go online to sabloomington.org to sign up and give donations, and just support in whatever way they can,” she said.
Bell ringing ends Christmas Eve, but Fulton said they will continue to take donations towards the Christmas campaign through the end of 2016.
