BLOOMINGTON – A man from Normal has been sentenced to 62 years in prison for possession of child pornography and failure to register as a sex offender.
James Carter, 46, was arrested in 2014 after a police search found images of child pornography on his computer. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of failure to register as a sex offender.
In issuing the sentence, McLean County Judge Robert Freitag said the images found on Carter’s computer were “deeply disturbing” and “disgusting to view.”
The convictions are Carter’s 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th felony convictions.
