Lyle D. “Ike” Dehm, 91, of Chatsworth passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 24 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Chatsworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow services at Chatsworth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home in Chatsworth is handling arrangements for the family.

Ike was born June 2, 1925 in Piper City a son of William and Harriet (DeBoor) Dehm. He married Wilma Ferguson on Sep. 15, 1945 in Chatsworth. She passed on Feb. 2, 2015.

He is survived by his children: Angela (Tom) Melody of Chatsworth and Jeffrey (Floral) Dehm of Chatsworth; three grandchildren: Brad Dehm, Ashley Talleur, and Nicole Graham; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Eric Dehm, and four brothers: Weldon, Lloyd, Glen, and Leland Dehm.

Ike attended Piper City Schools. Wilma and Ike owned and operated Westside Drive-in in Chatsworth, for five years prior to them having children. After that, Ike and Wilma owned and operated Dehm Bus Service for 63 years.  Ike was a member of Chatsworth United Methodist Church.

He was an avid collector of tractors, always buying, fixing, and driving them. Ike loved going to parades in the area and listening to music, especially the old time “jams” in the surrounding towns. He was known for his quick wit and storytelling.

Ike was a loving dad, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Anna Downen

Anna K. Downen, 59, of Normal, passed away at 4:35 p.m., Jan. 24 at her home.

Her Celebration of Life visitation will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.

Anna was born Sep. 8, 1957 in Bloomington, the daughter of Phillip and Ruth Potter Emery.  She married Stephen Downen on Nov. 25, 1979 in Bloomington.  He survives.

She is also survived by a daughter, Stephanie Downen of River Forest; a grandson, Kaleb Downen and his mother, Ashley Downen of Washington; her parents, Phillip and Ruth Ann Emery of Bloomington; her mother-in-law, Mary Ann Downen of Bloomington; two brothers, Phillip Emery of Mackinaw and Tim Emery of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Downen and her father-in-law, A. Wayne Downen.

Anna graduated from Bloomington High School.  She was a cook at the Parkview Inn for many years, owned and operated the Velvet Freeze in Normal and was a realtor for Brady Realty for many years.  Anna was an active volunteer during her children’s school years.  She loved her pets and feeding the birds.

Anna will be remembered as the nicest person we knew.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.
