Diana J. “Diane” Kemp, 69, of Bloomington, passed away at 8:03 a.m., Jan. 24 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center after a short battle with lung and brain cancer.
Diane will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 99 Union Hall, 406 S. Eldorado Rd. in Bloomington. There will be a graveside service at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Pallative Care, the Office of Spiritual Care or to the Nursing Staff, all at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

Diana was born May 14, 1947 in Bloomington, the daughter of Francis Ruth Wegel and Clifton Allen Haines. She married Rodger D. Kemp on Nov. 28, 1964 in Bloomington.
She is survived by her husband, her mother, a daughter, Karen Kemp-Golden; five grandchildren, Corey and Cassie Fortney, Drew Kemp and Devin and Karah Golden; and a great grandchild, Harper Jane Kemp, all of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Rhonda Fortney and one son, Mark Kemp.
Diane loved spending time on the Illinois River. She and Rodger purchased a Cabin in Manito in 1984 and spent every weekend from April through October there. She also enjoyed fishing and riding ATV’s on the beach and through the woods.
Diane retired from District 87, where she worked in food service.
