BLOOMINGTON – The Local Laborers Union 362 hall in Bloomington Thursday night was at capacity as residents gathered to learn how to push progressive values “in a time that’s antagonistic to them.”
That’s according to organizer Bob Broad. The event was called “INDIVISIBLE: Fighting the Trump-Rauner Agenda.” Broad explained it’s part of the national Indivisible movement
“They’ve got strategies; visit your representatives, write to your representatives, call your representatives,” said Broad. “We’re teaching people how to use these strategies and most important how to carry out these strategies together.”
Broad added he hoped people left feeling hopeful.
“That they can make a change and preserve the things that are good that seem to be under attack in our society,” he said.
The group held a similar event in January. Broad said it was “amazing” to see so many people turn out for this event.
