LINCOLN – The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for McLean County and much of central and northern Illinois.
The weather service said snow will develop west of the Illinois River by late Sunday evening, then spread eastward across the advisory area overnight. The snow will be heaviest late Sunday night into Monday morning.
One to three inches of snow is expected overnight with an additional two to four inches of new snow expected to fall on Monday.
The advisory will be in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday.
According to NWS, drivers should expect slick roads for the Monday morning commute with temperatures below freezing.
