Evidence may be unsealed in Zimmerman case

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court has ruled that some evidence that could be used in Kirk Zimmerman’s murder trial may be made public before a jury is seated.

Zimmerman is awaiting trial for the shooting deah of ex-wife Pamela Zimmerman in November 2014.

The court issued a ruling Friday which overturned McLean County Judge Scott Drazewski’s decision to grant two motions filed by defense attorney John Rogers to keep court records sealed. Rogers argued the release of the evidence would damage Zimmerman’s chances of getting an unbiased jury.

ZImmerman is due back in court on April 25. A trial date has not been set.
