Blagojevich arguments shut down in court

CHICAGO- The third time was not a charm for Former Governor Rod Blagojevich, as his bid to get his 14 year prison sentence shortened Friday was denied by thr 7th Circuit court of appeals in Chicago.

The most recent reason for wanting a shortened sentencing was based on his behavior at a federal prison in Colorado. The court, in it’s unanimous ruling, said that although he may be an admirable inmate, the sentence is punishing him for his behavior as governor, not as a prisoner.

Blagojevich was originally convicted on charges of trying to sell former President Barack Obama’s seat for political favors.
