NORMAL – Illinois State men’s basketball has reportedly landed first-team all-stater Taylor Bruninga.
The 6-foot-7 Illini Bluffs senior announced on Twitter late Monday his plans to play basketball at iSU.
“Thank you to everyone who had helped me achieve this goal,” Bruninga said. “I’m very blessed and excited to announce my commitment to Illinois State University. #ALLIN.”
Bruninga averaged 33 points and 12 rebounds per game last season.
ISU coach Dan Muller expressed his anticipation of working with Bruninga on and off the court.
We are incredibly excited to welcome another great student-athlete from the state of Illinois to our basketball program,” Muller explained. “Taylor had one of the best high school seasons of any player in the state and is deserving of all his postseason accolades. When you factor in the type of worker and competitor Taylor is, we believe he is only scratching the surface of what he will be as a player. We are looking forward to helping Taylor continue to develop his talents on the court, as well as help him excel academically here at Illinois State.”
