Dorothy Mae Nutt

Dorothy Mae Nutt, 70 of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 5:37pm at her home with her family by her side.

Dorothy’s service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11am at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing officiating. Following the services interment will be held at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 5-7pm at the funeral home.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born on July 14, 1946 in Bloomington, Illinois the daughter of Morris and Mary Lannigan. She married Robert Nutt on June 15, 1948 in Bloomington. He preceded her on March 26, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter; Carrie (James) Griffin of Bloomington, grandchildren; Jessica (Michael) Russo and Christopher (Lindsey Logan) Griffin, sister-in-law; Judith Sollner of Bloomington and nieces; Stephanie (Jeremiah) Griffin, Amy (Lance) Dorrell and Kimberly (David) Brackney.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Dorothy was a graduate of Normal Community High School and worked at State Farm Insurance Company retiring after 46 years and was a member at ARC (Activity and Recreation Center) of Normal.

She loved spending time with her family, friends and her dogs “Mitzy” and “DJ”. She truly enjoyed gatherings with her family and friends where she could cook and socialize with them. Dorothy will be dearly missed by all of them.
