PEORIA – A U.S. District Judge in Peoria has sentenced a Pekin man to 20-years in federal prison for receiving and possessing hundreds of photos and videos of child pornography.
David Turner, 43, pled guillty to the crimes in February, only six-months after his release from a state prison where he served 21-years for child pornography, aggravated kidnapping, and solicitation for murder.
Federal prosecutors said U.S. Secret Service agents searched Turner’s home on Court Street in Pekin in January and seized computer equipment with 481 images and 84 videos of minors having sex.
The investigation is part of the U.S. Justice Department’s Project Safe Childhood program aimed at combating sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
