SAVANNAH, Ill. – The History Channel series American Pickers is swinging through Illinois and they want to see what you’ve got.
Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are planning to film a number of episodes in Illinois beginning in June. The show explores the country in search of Americana that they can buy off of locals and resell at their shop in LeClaire, Iowa. Fritz sells what he finds online and from a shop in Savannah, Illinois, north of Clinton on the Mississippi River.
Casting associate Cat Raynor said the guys are looking for large collections of antiques. The bigger the better.
“We love really being able to spend a full day looking through things,” she said. “Anyone with a story to tell and items to show us.”
Raynor says the best part of the show is the personalities of the people they meet.
“A lot of the people that we end up talking to are lifelong collectors and have really personal connections to a lot of things,” she said.
Anyone who wants to submit an Illinois location to be on the show can submit name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to [email protected] or call (855) OLD-RUST.
