PONTIAC – Pontiac Township High School’s new head boys basketball coach selection is a familar face in the Indians gym.
Durrell Robinson was announced as the choice on the school’s Facebook page Sunday night.
Robinson was the coach of the Pontiac 66ers last season and was the Midwest Professional Basketball Association Coach of the Year. Robinson also played in Pontiac Holiday Tournament as a 1995 graduate of Danville High School. Robinson has been a player, scout and coach at the high school, college and professional levels.
Robinson replaces Brandon Martin, who resigned to accept a full-time position in Savoy.
The PTHS board will consider the recommendation at its July 17 meeting.
