NORMAL – A garage in Normal was heavily damaged by an early morning fire Thursday.
Firefighters were called to 101 E. Irving Street at 3:36 a.m. for the fire in a garage south of the cul-de-sac that’s south of the Police Department.
Firefighters reported fire through the roof of the detached, three-car garage when they arrived. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes.
The fire department said one antique car was destroyed in the blaze. The vehicle is insured and so is the garage. The damage to the garage is estimated at around $25,000.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
