Lila Fay Baker
Lila Fay Baker, 87 of Pontiac formerly of Odell and Chenoa, passed away at 6:22 a.m., Monday, August 14, 2017 at Pontiac Healthcare and Rehab, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa with Pastor Tom Goodell officiating. Burial will follow at Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa. Visitation will be one hour prior to her funeral also at the funeral home in Chenoa on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of their choice.
Lila was born November 13, 1929 in the family’s home at Weston, the daughter of Herman and Pearl (White) Fearman. She married Bobby Lee Baker on November 5, 1971 at the United Methodist Church of Odell. Her husband preceded her in death on August 9, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Hicks of Pontiac; two step-sons, Ronny Baker of Canal Fulton, OH; Lonny (Debbie) Baker of Wapella; one grandson, Casey Hicks of Pontiac; two step-granddaughters, Teresa (James) Stokes of Canal Fulton, OH; Jessica Baker of Chatsworth; one great granddaughter, Syndel Hicks of Pontiac; one step-great granddaughter, Arley Roth of Canal Fulton, OH; three brothers, Roy (Mary) Fearman of Hennepin; Russell (Sandra) Fearman of Pontiac; Gene “Hermie” (Joyce) Fearman of Odell; and one sister, Ruth McGinnis of Reddick.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Aaron Hicks, a brother, John “Eddy” Fearman, a sister, Viola (Howard) Stufoso and brother in-law, James McGinnis.
Lila was a graduate of Odell Community High School. She was employed at Crystal Inc, Odell; Owens Illinois Glass Co., Streator; Motorola Inc., Pontiac; Green Thumb Inc. in Chenoa schools, Washington School, Pontiac; and Meadows Home in Chenoa. She enjoyed baking, bingo, word search puzzles and crafts.
