TAYLORVILLE – U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, has several reasons why he’s upset with President Donald Trump’s recent remarks which blamed all sides for the violence that rang out in Charlottesville, Va. last week.
Davis told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin, aside from the insensitivity of the remarks, they also derailed a news conference in which the president had laid out his effort to lay out the loosing of regulatory burdens for infrastructure through an executive order.

“I know this is the first president we’ve ever had from the private sector without any government and military experience, but he’s got to understand (the media) isn’t going to ask him about the executive order after the weekend we saw in Charlottesville, Virginia,” Davis said. “He’s got to be able to stick to what he’s going to talk about and he didn’t do it.”
Davis also slammed the president’s remarks for their content.
“The worst thing about it when he said there’s fine people there. There are no fine people at a neo-Nazi march,” Davis said.
