Local man charged with ‘higher-end’ marijuana dealing at ISU

BLOOMINGTON – A man from Normal is charged with what a local prosecutor described as “higher-end dealing of high-grade marijuana” at Illinois State University.

Jon Liebermann, 19, was arrested a week ago, but Bloomington Police have only now released information about the case.

The McLean County State’s Attorney’s office charged Liebermann with delivery of marijuana for allegedly selling the drug to a police informant in Normal earlier this month. Liebermann is also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

According to a police department news release issued Wednesday, members of the Bloomington Police Vice and Street Crimes Units searched a location in the two-hundred block of West Willow Street in Normal.

Investigators allegedly found eight pounds of marijuana with a street value of $35,790, $3,600 in suspected drug money, and four Ecstasy pills.

A prosecutor says Liebermann remains jailed on $50,000, which means he has to come up with $5,000 to be released while awaiting trial.
